Could an Impending Little Ice Age Help Save Western Civilization?

Amidst the fading heat of summer I find it appropriate to discuss the pleasant topic of cooler weather. While many of my Kinist friends make their home in Dixie, I hail from the heart of the Midwest, and my temperature temperament is more calibrated to northern Canada than where I reside. I love autumn and winter for various reasons, but near the top of the list is the cooler weather. In addition to many of my positions which are considered fringe by modern standards, I am also crazy enough to love snow! For some time I have been interested in the recent phenomenon of what has been referred to as global warming or climate change. The last couple of decades have witnessed a persistent effort on the part of the scientific and academic establishment to inculcate everyone in the idea that the world is getting warmer, and that it is our fault.

Many of America’s foremost scientists like Bill Nye “the science guy,” Neil DeGrasse Tyson, and Al Gore have embraced what has come to be known as anthropogenic global warming (AGW). We know that these men are credible because they have been on TV and movies, and Al Gore even invented the internet! Gore became a proponent of AGW during his years of boredom after losing the presidential election of 2000, so he decided to make a glorified PowerPoint presentation called An Inconvenient Truth. In addition to these luminaries, AGW is also supported by NASA and a host of other official organizations and think-tanks. The most prominent organization that supports the belief in AGW is the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), and it is common for leftist politicians in both major political parties to cite a broad consensus among scientists pertaining to the belief in AGW. Nevertheless, climate change “denialism” has witnessed a recent surge, and “denialists” are becoming more and more confident in their criticism of the supposed scientific consensus.

The reality is that AGW is false. First, virtually every prediction made by the IPCC in the past decades has turned out to be exaggerated or simply wrong. Not only is the planet not warming as rapidly as alarmists would have us believe, the planet is not warming at all.¹ There has not been global warming for the last couple of decades, and the planet is slowly cooling. Politicians, academics, and celebrities posing as scientists attempt to bully the unsuspecting public into believing in global warming by claiming that there is a “97% consensus” among climate scientists that global warming is real. Like every other aspects of this swindle, the “97% consensus” is a hoax. Al Gore’s famous film An Inconvenient Truth contains precious little truth in it at all. Indeed there are numerous climate scientists who reject the claims that the earth is warming, or at least that mankind is the cause of climatic changes, and many of these scientists have coalesced to form the Nongovernmental International Panel on Climate Change (NIPCC). So what is driving global warming hysteria?

The goal behind global warming propaganda is to consolidate power behind a centralized, one-world government. National governments throughout the world, as well as trans-national governing bodies such as the United Nations, have created the false problem of global warming, and they’ve done so in order to swoop in to provide what we are told is the only tenable solution. Naturally, the problem of global warming can only be solved with massive government spending, to the tune of hundreds of billions of dollars, more federal and international oversight, and persecution of those pesky “climate deniers” who won’t accept the obvious truths of science. Since the specter of slightly warming temperatures over the next century isn’t enough to rouse people into action, global warming advocates resort to claims that warming causes terrorism² and even worse…racism! This is what science in the twenty-first century is all about: create a problem and then secure government financing to “solve” the problem. When the problem persists, insist that more taxpayer funding is necessary. Even if global warming had a legitimate scientific basis, it would not be the kind of problem that would require massive government spending and oversight. Some modest warming would actually help society to flourish.

As best as we can determine, climate trends have fluctuated throughout history. There appear to be cyclical patterns that affect temperature and weather patterns. The most obvious of these is the annual change of seasons. We experience spring, summer, autumn, and winter based upon the tilt of the earth’s rotational access toward and away from the sun. In addition to the annual change of seasons there are also perennial cycles that affect climate patterns, such as solar cycles, based upon solar activity, and Milankovitch cycles, which pertain to patterns in the earth’s orbit around the sun.³ Peaks in solar activity correspond to warmer temperatures, while diminished solar activity leads to cooler temperatures. There are other additional factors that impact climate and weather, but the general principle is that weather is determined by natural cycles rather than human activity. The notion that human activity controls our weather is contradicted by the teaching of the Bible, and this is true whether we’re discussing our relatively small contribution to carbon dioxide or the supposed control of the weather by the government through HAARP. The Bible teaches that God is sovereign over all of creation, and this includes the extent of the oceans, seas, and other bodies of water (Job 38:8-11; Ps. 104:9; Jer. 5:22). God is also sovereign over the weather, including lightning (Job 28:26, 37:3), hail (Job 38:22; Ps. 147:17; Hag. 2:17), rain (Job 28:26, 37:6; Ps. 147:8), and snow (Job 37:6, 38:22; Ps. 147:16).

God controls the weather. We do not. One way or another we are going to figure this out, because the current trends indicate not only that the earth is not warming, but that it is cooling. Projections of imminent cooling are based upon observations of trends in solar output over several years. Admittedly, direct observation of solar output as measured by the observation of sunspots, solar flares, etc. has only been happening consistently since about the 1880s, and not before the nineteenth century. From what we do know, there seems to be a correlation between solar output and global temperature trends. Periods of lower solar output correspond to periods of cooler average temperatures, just as periods of higher solar output correspond to periods of warmer average temperatures. The fact that cyclical trends involving solar output are the major determinant of weather and climate should implicitly make sense to us, and certainly more sense than the AGW position. What is interesting is what appears on the horizon. Recent solar cycles have produced increasingly diminished solar output, and this trend looks to continue into the coming decades. If this trend does continue it will likely bring about large-scale cooling for the foreseeable future. Assuming that this comes to pass, I believe that there are two distinct ways in which this could actually help save European civilization.

First, if predictions of disastrous global warming fail to come to pass, notwithstanding billions of dollar spent by Western governments in fabricating these myths, this will serve as just one more example in the minds of many people that the government cannot be trusted. Evidence abounds that government-funded “science” will prove to be false in the coming decades, and the louder that Western governments cry wolf, the more this undermines their credibility. This may serve as an impetus for ordinary citizens the world over to question their governments and reject government-manufactured “consensus.” The establishment left and even many on the establishment right believe that man-made global warming is an existential threat, and when reality fails to back this claim they could lose all leverage not only on this issue, but on other issues of greater importance as well.

The second way in which a coming little ice age would save European civilization is by undermining the welfare state which harms the existence of the European people. Of the two reasons why a coming ice age could save the European people, this is more important. A new ice age could potentially bring about a good deal of hardship to much of the world, leading to crop failures and food shortages. This problem would be more pronounced at latitudes farther from the equator, which means that Europe and North America would be impacted. The welfare state which expropriates wealth from native white Europeans and re-appropriates resources to non-whites could easily be undone by ice age conditions. Native Europeans would not be able to prop up an already-failing welfare state. Furthermore it is also likely that many non-whites would voluntarily leave Europe and North America if circumstances become inhospitable. It is no secret that many non-whites have migrated to white countries in order to exploit the welfare state and create general havoc. We witness this in the present collapse of many countries in Western Europe. A trend towards hard winters in Europe and North America will produce a greater need for social cohesion and solidarity with the result being that the native white population will be less welcoming to burdensome foreigners and non-whites less likely to want to live in Europe and North America.

This is of course speculation. I don’t know the future of weather and climate patterns, and I don’t know how people will react. There are plenty of reasons for whites to reject the pronouncements of their governments already, so it may be that whites just end up forgetting the extent to which our governments are pushing the global warming/man-made climate change agenda. Likewise suicidal tendencies prevail among many of the people of European extraction, so it is possible that a coming little ice age would just prove to be one more way in which we can manage to kill ourselves off. What I do know is that ultimately our cause will prevail as all nations are converted to Christ. The result of the future conversion of the white nations of Europe and the Americas will be our restoration to the blessings we once enjoyed under our adherence to the Christian faith. While I cannot honestly predict the future with any degree of certainty, I do think that a little ice age could go a long way towards helping restore the security of white nations and saving European civilization from her impending doom.
