A Queer Month

 

Yesterday (May 31, 2011), Mr. Obama took time off from his busy golf schedule to once again issue a statement celebrating June as Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Pride Month, as he did in 2009 and 2010.  U.S. government recognition began in 2000 by President Clinton as Gay and Lesbian Pride Month, and Mr. Obama expanded it to LGBT Pride Month in 2009 (he doesn’t want any perverts to feel left out).¹  Considering that, sixty years ago, such perverted behavior was not tolerated in public, this statement is a sad commentary on how far the USA has degenerated. From the statement:

The story of America’s Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender (LGBT) community is the story of our fathers and sons, our mothers and daughters, and our friends and neighbors who continue the task of making our country a more perfect Union.

Right, because two men or two women can totally reproduce by themselves and become fathers or mothers.

We have made clear through executive branch nondiscrimination policies that discrimination on the basis of gender identity in the Federal workplace will not be tolerated. I have continued to nominate and appoint highly qualified, openly LGBT individuals to executive branch and judicial positions. Because we recognize that LGBT rights are human rights, my Administration stands with advocates of equality around the world in leading the fight against pernicious laws targeting LGBT persons and malicious attempts to exclude LGBT organizations from full participation in the international system.

We are good little gender Marxists. Our god of Equality will be pleased.

We are also working to reduce the threat of bullying against young people, including LGBT youth. . . . To help dispel the myth that bullying is a harmless or inevitable part of growing up, the First Lady and I hosted the first White House Conference on Bullying Prevention in March.

What’s next – political parties advocating for pedophilia?  Oh wait…

Putting aside the immoral perversion of the issue, let’s take a look at some of the other heritage/awareness/pride months recognized by the U.S. government:²

• February: Black History Month

• May: Jewish American Heritage Month

• May: Asian Pacific American Heritage Month

• June: Caribbean-American Heritage Month

• September 15–October 15: National Hispanic Heritage Month

• November: National American Indian Heritage Month

Notice anything missing from this list?  Maybe the people who created America?  The Germanic, Celtic, and Nordic founding stock of America are completely left off the list. It is not acceptable to celebrate the heritage of the people who tamed the American wilderness, built America from the ground up, created the American governmental and law system, and invented the things which makes the modern world possible like the light bulb, airplane, automobile, and computer.

It is true that March is Irish-American Heritage Month and October is Italian American Heritage and Culture Month, but there are two large mitigating factors which make this point hollow.  First of all, unless someone went and purposely looked it up, I bet the vast majority of Americans are completely unaware that these two heritage months exist, unlike Black, Hispanic, or Jewish months, which receive wide publicity and are crammed down everyone’s throats.  And secondly, while Irishmen and Italians are definitely white Europeans, they were generally not part of the Scottish, English, Welsh, German, French, and Scandinavian American founding stock.  The Irish and Italians were part of the second wave of European immigrants to America a full 200 years after widespread colonization, and they generally were not treated as, did not act like, and did not consider themselves to be a part of the white American majority.  “The Gangs of New York” is a good movie to watch to get an idea of the clash between the second wave of European immigrants and the northern European founding stock.  This clash and animosity was later used by the Marxists to gain the support of Irish and Italians against the founding stock of America and their culture (who voted the Kennedys into power?).  Thankfully, over the past generation or so, this has begun to change dramatically, both as the establishment loses its need to pit different European ethnicities in America against each other due to the rising population of non-whites, who are much easier to use, and as the Irish and Italians complete the assimilation process and begin to identify themselves with and be accepted by the white American majority.  I view this change as extremely positive, yet  it is telling that the two European ethnicities honored with months are the two who have been most useful to the American Left in the past.

Contrast the treatment of the founding stock white majority of America by the U.S. government with the treatment of the ethnic Russian majority of the Soviet Union by the USSR government.  Wilmot Robertson discusses this contrast on pages 470 and 471 of his book The Dispossessed Majority:³

On November 6, 1941, as the German Wehrmacht stood before the gates of Moscow, Stalin tore up the Marxist-Leninist rule book by describing Hitler’s onslaught, not as an assault on the citadel of world communism, the Holy Land of Marxism, but as a war of extermination against the Slavs. No more were the German invaders portrayed as last-ditch capitalists trying to root out socialism from the face of the earth. Historical materialism, economic determinism, the class struggle, all the sacred pillars of Communist ideology crumbled as the Soviet news media revived the racial glories of Mother Russia, even going so far as to invoke the ghosts of long departed czarist heroes and Orthodox saints.

The rest is history. On May 24, 1945, seventeen days after Germany had been defeated, Stalin proposed an almost heretical toast at a Kremlin banquet of Red Army commanders:

“I should like to drink to the health of our Soviet people … and first of all to the health of the [ethnic] Russian people … because it is the most outstanding nation of all the nations forming the Soviet Union …. It has won in this war universal recognition as the leading force in the Soviet Union among all the peoples of our country ….”

On March 15, 1954, Izvestia stated in a leading article:

“Every people in the Soviet Union understands perfectly well that the main decisive role in the achievement of victory over the enemy in the Great Patriotic War ••. was played by the Great [ethnic] Russian people. For this reason the prestige of the [ethnic] Russian people is so immeasurably high among the other peoples; for this reason the peoples of the USSR bear toward it boundless confidence and a feeling of tremendous love and gratitude.”

The [white] American Majority received no such glowing tribute, either from the American government or the American press, for its “main decisive role” in the military victory in World War II or, for that matter, World War I.

Indeed, the American establishment was too busy extolling the make-believe exploits of the Tuskegee Airmen.  Don’t expect to get any recognition for the fact that a disproportionate number of white Americans are dying in the current wars either (whites comprise 75% to 80% of total casualties while comprising only about 60% of the total American population).⁴

It is quite a telling fact that American queers and Soviet Russians get and got more recognition than the founding American majority currently does.
