On Saturday, a link to Ehud’s article on the reality of race was posted on reddit.com’s atheism page. What happened next was as to be expected: a lot of pointing and spluttering without any real attempts made to rebut any of the assertions made in the F&H article. However, an atheist did make a very interesting comment:
That’s what happens when you have otherwise intelligent people believing that a book contains absolute, unchanging truth. They are one of the few sects of Christianity that is actually consistent with the Scripture in its perspective on slavery and tolerance. They refuse to water down, modernize, and Westernize [i.e. “Enlightenment”-ize] their Holy Book, so it stays true to what God intended it to be.
As a friend put it, “I regard this as one of the greatest compliments we could receive. This is what attracted me to Christian Reconstructionism and kinism in the first place. Fact is, we’re the only consistent religion in the world.”
The atheist gets it; you either take the Bible as is or you don’t really believe the Bible. Kinism is consistent biblical Christianity; it is the only position which truly believes in the immutability of God and His Word. Those Christians who oppose Kinism can do so only by twisting Scripture to fall into line with the norms of our modern pagan society, so that they can feel comfortable at dinner parties with their non-Christian friends and look down on the unenlightened who still believe as pre-1960 Christians almost universally did.
