The neologism cuckservative, a portmanteau of cuckold and conservative, streaked onto the scene comet-like in the lead-up to the 2016 election year. It has proven a stinging indictment to those who had grown inured to the preceding turncoat labels such as RINO, Quisling, and the like.
But even the initial response it evoked is stronger than that of any foregoing equivalent. There are a couple obvious reasons for this: one is that the term RINO ultimately only begs the question of what a true conservative is, and it was therefore easily co-opted by the NeoCons as a hex against the lingering ‘America First’ wing of the GOP, thus turning its original meaning of RINO upside down; whereas the term Quisling, by way of its association with German Fascism, has little bite for those who pride themselves on being the embodiment of all things “anti-fascist,” especially when leveled by those to their right, as it can then be construed as a case of the pot calling the kettle black.
Not so, however, with ‘cuckservative.’ Not only does it not suffer from the vagueries of its close equivalents; it also cuts much deeper because its targets cannot be in doubt. It lays finger on the more personal dimensions of treason – the relinquishment of one’s own house, wife, and children to invasive predators. The power of its poignancy lies in the fact that it highlights the abdication of a man’s most intimate duties. It brings home the implications of liberalism on border and race issues as violating the principle of 1 Timothy 5:8, disregard of one’s own family. It impugns the manhood of its subjects, and concomitantly any and all professions of a man’s Christian faith as well. So yes, the acerbic potency of this word is couched in the most basic allegiances and undergirded by the biblical understanding of familial duty. Even if it would seem indecipherably archaic to post-family Marxists, those yet anchored to traditional categories, however so tenuously, still comprehend the gravity and accuracy of the charge.
The caterwauling it has evoked from so many so-called conservatives is indicative of not only its power, but the identity of those to whom it most applies. As the old chestnut goes, “When you pitch a rock into a pack of dogs the one that yelps is the one you hit.” Its targets simply cannot be mistaken. Yes, they may cavil that allusions to cuckoldry are somehow just not cricket. But none putting on the most delicate Victorian airs presently ever imagined the term cuckold as improper before now; in the works of Chaucer, Shakespeare, or the whole roster of English literati since, it appears no one ever took the term ‘cuckold’ as unchristian, uncharitable, or inappropriate till the dawning of the age of the Social Justice Warrior and Neo-Christianity. Clearly, the reason so many Beltway Conservatives* balk at it is that it crystallizes the depth of their betrayal and heaps burning coals upon their heads.
Though unintentionally on his part, Hosea was a biblical example of cuckoldry. His circumstance is described in no uncertain terms as a tremendous shame and horror resulting in the birth of two illegitimate children whom he by divine inspiration called Lo-Ruhamah and Lo-Ammi, the meanings of which are “Not Pitied” and “Not My People.” Bitter words indeed. Can you imagine a White man naming the mixed children of his wife’s adultery “Not Mine” and “Bastard”? This is essentially what Hosea did. God Himself bid Hosea tarry with the harlot and children whom He would deny as a symbolic representation of God’s strained relationship to the infidelitous nation of Israel. What is the seventh commandment about if not a ward against cuckoldry – a subversion of a lineage by alien admixture? Cuckoldry, in its most general aspect, is the circumstance of a husband being a victim of an adulterous wife and her lover, but cuckoldry is also subject to degrees. If, for instance, the victim in the circumstance deigns to raise the illegitimate seed of the adulterer as his own, depriving, displacing, or otherwise compromising the birthright of his own rightful heirs, he is a collaborator in the usurpation of his own house. More so, again, if the husband and father is complicit in or facilitating of that infidelity, masochistically undermining his own house. Make no mistake, what has been sold to us as ‘Respectable Conservatism’ the past couple decades is doing all of the above. The GOP has institutionalized cuckoldry to the furthest degree.
Now, laughably imputing the ideologies of Propositional Nationhood, Civil Rights, and Globalism to “the Christian Right” which was previously opposed to all the aforesaid by definition, Alienism has reared a generation of geldings for whom the term Cuckservative Christianity was no doubt destined. No matter how they console themselves with the NeoCon fairytale that “Black and Brown people are all natural Conservatives,” or Peter Leithart’s fantasy that American Christendom can be saved only by the mass importation of Black Africans, God’s manifest reality (not to mention Scripture) refutes them with force measured in megatons. For the more thoroughly their inane theory of conservancy through radical revolution is implemented, the faster Christendom is dismantled before our eyes.
But inasmuch as this curse of Cuckservative Christianity bastardizes and at length terminates the unfaithful lines, the judgment comes too as a blessing for those clans who persevered in the meekness of faith: the dross is purged and the chaff is winnowed. Those who remain shall be set apart, a holy people indeed.
From amidst the ruins they shall again call the Alienist brood Lo-Ammi and Lo-Ruhamah, and rebuild the ramparts of Christendom. And the meek shall inherit the earth.
