Reformed Margins (“Where Minority Meets Reformed”) is one of the newer websites run by diversities in the name of “racial reconciliation”, i.e., hating white people in the name of Jesus. These particular diversities are predominantly Asian. But they do have a black and a Hispanic thrown in, almost certainly for CYA purposes. See, most black and brown people who hate white people in the name of Jesus also tend to be very suspicious of Asians. After all, it’s only been 25 years since blacks in Los Angeles rioted over the arrest of the Reverend Doctor Rodney Luther King (peace be upon him). And during the LA riot, burning down bodegas and liquor stores owned by Koreans who were “exploiting the black community” was as close as most of the black rioters came to making Whitey pay. Even worse, some Korean shop owners had the gall to use guns to keep blacks from burning their stores down, and that is not okay.
In addition, Koreans, Chinese, and Japanese in America tend to be extremely successful, despite the fact that our white ancestors didn’t much care for them, worked hard to keep them out of the country, and later kept them segregated from our people. Yet these ethnic groups are extremely prosperous today. Which makes a mockery of the claim that blacks are “suffering” in America due to racism. Blacks deeply resent Asians for this. So, while they may not come right out and say so, many blacks in the evangelical/Reformed “racial reconciliation” crowd don’t much care for Asians, and regard them as basically white people with slanted eyes who probably aren’t very fond of black folks. So if an Asian “racial reconciliation” group wants to be taken seriously, they’ve got to have a couple of black/brown people on board for window dressing.
Because black or not, Asians are still diversities, and they are now jumping on the “man, white people suck!” bandwagon in a big way. The founders of Reformed Margins have no doubt been watching in amazement as one black “intellectual” after another is lionized and fawned over by the Reformed and evangelical powers that be. A Jeremiah Wright wannabe like Jemar Tisby flies all over the country getting paid to tell white churches just how much Jesus hates them and everything they stand for, and is a right-hand man to Ligon Duncan, the head of Reformed Theological Seminary. Third-rate black liberation theology preacher Mika Edmondson is fawned over by Al Mohler, the head of America’s largest seminary. Jarvis Williams is a professor at that same seminary, yet describes himself as “marginalized” and “oppressed” because he’s black. Anthony Bradley is a professor at King’s College, and is handed one book contract after another.
No one would have heard of any of these guys if they were white, but because they’re black, whites give them all kinds of money and opportunities. Asians, especially Koreans, have been a significant presence in the PCA since its early days, and for 40 years no one’s been handing them any money. But let a few black mediocrities come along screaming “RACISM!” and in no time at all they’re riding that gravy train with biscuit wheels. Well, now Asians want in on this sweet deal.
Thus, Reformed Margins was born. Nine contributors are listed on the site. One is black (Bryant Parsons), one is a black/brown Hispanic (Marcos Ortega). But, as I said above, these two guys are mainly there for window dressing, CYA, to try to make it look like it’s not all Asians. But the other seven contributors are named Ong, Cheng, Kim, Chang, Chung, Kim, and Jeong. So, yeah, Reformed Margins is a bunch of Asians trying to cash in on the racial reconciliation racket, with a couple of non-Asian tokens.
They’ve been around for about a year and a half, but so far they’ve failed to gain much traction. They even published a recent article in defense of the black liberation heresy on the “Gender Apartheid” Truth’s Table podcast, but that didn’t really put them on the map, either. Yet now they think they’ve found their Main Chance, and they’re trying to organize an anti-racist witch hunt against Rev. Harry Reeder, of Briarwood Presbyterian Church. I wrote a Faith and Heritage article recently about Briarwood Presbyterian Church asking the state of Alabama for permission to create its own official police force, and how that didn’t really jibe very well with the anti-cop/pro-black thugs sentiments that are so popular in the PCA these days.
A few weeks later, a writer for The Root, a black news website, also wrote about Briarwood asking for its own police force. His article, “The Racist, Homophobic History of an Ala. Church Gunning for Its Own Police Force” attacks the church for opposing gay marriage and for supporting Donald Trump. It also includes this snippet:
Harry Reeder, the Briarwood Presbyterian pastor, is as problematic as the place of worship. He is a longtime advocate for the Confederate flag and speaks at ceremonies for neo-Confederate groups like the Sons of Confederate Veterans. Although religious organizations are prohibited from taking political stances, Reeder often shills for the Republican Party, as he did in his recent broadcast “Mike Pence Places a Hedge Around His Marriage.”
Well, when Reformed Margins saw that, they had to Take A Stand. They had no choice; they’ve read Bonhoeffer, and they Could Not Remain Silent. And thus we now find this article at the top of their website:
A Prayer for Clarity from a Minister of the Gospel
Harry Reeder, prominent minister and member of the WTS trustee board, has been connected to a neo-Confederate group. What is the nature of that connection?
Reformed Margins was outraged to learn that not only had Harry Reeder attended a wicked celebration of the life of Robert E. Lee in 2009, he had done so on the holiest day of the Judeochristian calendar, the birthday of Martin Luther King of Kings. So they did some “research” of their own, and found out that Harry Reeder had attended another Robert E. Lee celebration in 2012. Clearly, Harry Reeder is a Bad Person, and Something Must Be Done:
Rev. Harry Reeder not only attended the 2009 and 2012 events, he was a speaker who joined in SCV celebrations by giving a lecture on General Lee. We understand that with regard to General Lee, it is contested as to what extent he supported and opposed slavery. We also understand that, while inevitably having blind spots and flaws, he may have been a truly God-fearing man in many respects. However, it remains true that General Lee was the commanding officer of a military that fought for the retention and promotion of the enslavement of black men and women who were created in the image and likeness of God.
The appearance of a minister of Word and Sacrament alongside neo-Confederates sends confusing signals to those who have benefited from the work of Rev. Reeder. How are we to square these appearances with Rev. Reeder’s personal denunciations of racism on his blog? How does this fit with the PCA’s racial reconciliation statement, which Rev. Reeder signed?
We are not calling Rev. Reeder a racist. We are resolved not to impute guilt by association, nor to engage in name-calling and finger-pointing in a world already filled with heaps of unhelpful social media shaming. We believe that Rev. Reeder should be afforded the opportunity to explain his connection to the Sons of Confederate Veterans. Does he agree with their neo-Confederate cause? Does he agree with the literature this group produces and promotes? Is he a supporter of the Confederate flag, a symbol of hate and oppression? If not, why would he support the group by attending their event as a speaker?
We, the signatories of this letter, write as alumni of Westminster Theological Seminary where Rev. Reeder sits on the Board of Trustees. Is Westminster aware of Reeder’s connection to SCV? If they are aware, to what extent do Rev. Reeder’s actions reflect the views of the seminary?
Our aim in writing this article is not to smear Rev. Reeder’s name. Instead, our prayer is that Rev. Reeder and WTS would respond to this article and the article by Michael Harriot. We ask for this explanation publicly because Rev. Reeder made his actions public in 2009 by agreeing to speak with a reporter at the Dothan Eagle and explaining his role at the SCV event. Now that the connection between Rev. Reeder and the Sons of Confederate Veterans is nationally known, we believe that ethnic minorities who are alumni of Westminster or currently attend Westminster are justified in seeking an explanation.
We believe that those connected to Rev. Reeder’s other ministry endeavors – Briarwood Presbyterian Church, The Gospel Coalition where Rev. Reeder serves on the leadership council, the Presbyterian Church in America where he serves as a teaching elder, and Reformed Theological Seminary where he serves as adjunct faculty – should also encourage Rev. Reeder to provide an explanation.
We are not seeking discipline or punishment against Rev. Reeder, nor do we feel ill will toward him. We seek clarity of truth, the unity of the Church, and a spirit of openness toward ethnic minorities within the Reformed tradition. We believe Rev. Reeder’s actions have damaged the witness and action of the Church toward those biblical goals.
We pray that Rev. Reeder will denounce the racist ideology of the neo-Confederate movement, issue an apology to those hurt by his actions and, together with Westminster Theological Seminary, The Gospel Coalition, Reformed Theological Seminary, and the Presbyterian Church in America, commit to pursuing racial justice which includes supporting ethnic minorities and denouncing racist actions, ideologies, and policies.

It will be interesting to see what comes of this.
But here’s the kicker – for all his support of Donald Trump, for all his Confederate nostalgia, Harry Reeder is a white-hating, race-mixing cuck. According to this article, he signed the infamous confession of corporate racism at last year’s PCA General Assembly. Here’s an article from his blog where he praises a university for violating the free speech rights of white people who express the wrong opinions about race, even off campus, praises the destruction of constitutional rights by way of Civil Rights laws, says races don’t exist because “there is only one race, the human race”, calls “racism” a sin, and brags that he has at least one adult child who has indulged in the sexual perversion of either interracial marriage or tranny adoption, resulting in “my three African-American grandchildren.”
So don’t feel bad for Harry Reeder. He’s just another traitorous white man who’s just one more sickening disgrace to the Gospel ministry. If anything comes of this Reformed Margins article, I’m sure he’ll quickly cave, apologize for his participation in Sons of Confederate Veterans activities, and grovel obsequiously.
But let this be a lesson, folks. We can’t stress it often enough – just as Rod Dreher learned recently, no matter how deeply you hate white people, no matter how much you fawn over Martin Luther King and the Civil Rights Movement, no matter how much sexual perversion you celebrate in your family in the name of Diversity, if you deviate in any way from the program, you’re going to be hunted down and made an example of.
So just stop playing the game.
