What Kim Il-Sung started with his bellicose invasion of South Korea on June 25th, 1950 has seemingly been concluded by his grandson with a simple step across the 38th parallel’s demarcation line on April 27th, 2018. The long-unresolved Korean War was officially proclaimed at an end. What MacArthur’s Inchon landing, the final episode of M*A*S*H, and Dennis Rodman’s brilliant diplomatic manoeuvrings failed to accomplish was instead wrought by the merest gesture from an obese Oriental oligarch. Such are the vicissitudes of history.
On the surface, of course, this is a joyous event. What kinist wouldn’t rejoice in the solidifying of a homogeneously ethnic people in a common, and decidedly non-imperialist, cause? Not the least of the gains would be the kick in the nether regions it would inflict upon the hegemonic American gunboat diplomacy complex by further shattering that Golem of Judeo-vengeance: the fabricated ‘Axis of Evil’. More winning, right?
And yet – modern gains seem to be replete with ‘and yets’ – there seem to be many disconcerting signs that all is not as it appears in this happy melding of kingdoms. Suspicious discrepancies abound in this meta-narrative. Let us take a brief look at a few of the outstanding ones.
- The Church’s usual gang of idiots is celebrating it.
As can be expected, Team Alienist has doffed their Phrygian caps en masse in a show of solidarity over the prospect of liberté, égalité, et fraternité taking hold of the Korean peninsula. This seems to be a particular bugaboo among Bojidar Marinov’s coterie of malicious Ewok-faced Millennial ankle-biters, and once again the audacity of their hypocrisy takes the breath away. Racial consolidation is a stench in the nostrils within the Church, but a cause for celebration on the world stage? I can’t wait to see what kind of theonomic society these gnostic prognosticators manage to dream up.
Alienists tend to take everything presented before their crossed eyes at face value, so it’s only natural that their analytical skills are nonexistent. They were wrong in confidently asserting that Obama would be a one-term president. They were wrong in confidently asserting that Ted Cruz would trounce Donald Trump in the GOP primaries. They were wrong in confidently asserting that the Brexit vote would be the death knell of the European Union. Why should we take their bromides regarding the Koreas any more seriously? Everything they touch seems to turn into gray congealed oatmeal, so their stance on this experiment does not bode well for its long-term triumph.
- The North is still communist, the South is still hedonistic.
If bitter and sweet water cannot emanate from the same fountain, why on earth would we expect two streams of bitter water to coalesce into a sweet pool? What possible sustainable congeniality can be found between an insular Stalinist North and an aggressively neo-liberal, export- and financial-mad South – both of which are heathen entities anathema to God? The best-case scenario to come out of such a partnership is a middling detente, where Kim and Moon fly to endless depressing summits in both Pyongyang and Seoul, offering each other soulless toasts and arguing over the minutiae of defence and economic policies into stalemate. The more likely scenario is that northern influence leads the South to nationalize its entire industrial base and the peninsula becomes a China in miniature. Marxism is a devouring mistress and her utter lack of scruples gains her the victory more often than not, as the increasing socialization of the U.S. after ‘winning’ the Cold War demonstrates. Only a shared Christian worldview can truly unite a divided people, as our very own South could have told the imperialist Unitarian utilitarian North.
- Once again, it’s all about Trump.
The Donald certainly has not been coy in garnering as much credit as possible his way in regards to this historic thaw. Regardless of how many accolades are his actual due – and the consensus seems to be building even among the hostile media that he does warrant at least some – this becomes at best a secondary issue when you consider the plethora of treasonous ‘winning’ this event is meant to cover up. From yet another cheap shot against an ambiguous Syrian target, to a proposal to grant a full presidential pardon to the miscegenating black thug of a prizefighter Jack Johnson, to an utterly gratuitous bromance with self-promoting shill Kanye West on the basis of a couple of indecipherable Tweets, Orange Julius Caesar has done plenty to antagonize his white blue-collar base lately. But all that went out the window when he started his latest campaign of self-aggrandizement. Now they have relegated to their proper role, getting their MAGA caps out of the storage locker and chanting ‘NO…BEL!! NO…BEL!! NO…BEL!!’ like wise Solons at his weekly rallies. Oh, fickle yeomanry! When will you perceive that the Baals of D.C. are the most deceitful mistresses of all?
If we are to grant any outside influence the most credit for peace feelers, we would be better off doing so with China, who has always carried more influence with North Korea than either nation has been willing to admit, and who understandably are not crazy about Cowboy Kim conducting nuclear tests right outside their doorstep. It’s not inconceivable that even Putin garnered some friendly persuasion in an undertone of chill their way, with Vladivostok in a convenient line of sight for any incursion Murika might deign to send to the region. This entire part of the globe has a powerfully vested interest in walking on eggshells at the moment.
- That ‘demilitarization’ thing? Forget it.
Well, that certainly didn’t take long. No sooner did we all get used to the idea of a peaceable kingdom in the Orient than South Korea pulls a fast one and sheepishly admits U.S. forces will remain on its soil due to ‘binding security agreements’. That was a fun dream of reining in Ares while it lasted, wasn’t it? But fear not! Trump has ordered the dastardly Pentagon to….’consider’ drawing down troops from the peninsula. Isn’t that some hardball Art of the Deal leadership right there? And lest ambiguity rule the day, Trump made things even more plain by announcing that troop withdrawals will not be on the table during the upcoming peace negotiations. Sigh. Is there some kind of catchy phrase we can utilize to voice our displeasure at this unfortunate turn of events? Oh yeah – ‘NO…BEL!! NO…BEL!! NO…BEL!!’ I feel better now.
- Eager Beaver Kim
Okay, this is just plumb weird. Let us grant that Kim had an epiphany and came to a very sudden conclusion that reconciliation with the South was the only means left to the North for national survival. Given his hidebound orthodox Stalinist upbringing, is it likely that he’d eagerly suggest an immediate scrapping of the North’s half-hour time difference with the South? Especially considering that change was done as some sort of half-hearted ‘commemoration’ of the legacy of Japanese imperialism, or something? Even more bizarrely brazen, what are we to make of Kim’s sudden enthusiasm to get a frickin’ McDonald’s on every street corner in Pyongyang? Is this the same leader who was flaunting his missile tests to the Yankee imperialist running dogs at the start of this very year? Hell, even the Soviet Union’s Communist Party had to be petitioned by the chain to open its first franchise in Moscow – not the other way around. If this stunning turnaround continues, no doubt in the near future we’ll be witnessing Kim extolling the virtuous stability of central banking and begging to be included within that illustrious cabal. What matters Juche when Jews say otherwise? Doubtless he has been well rewarded for his transmogrification into a newly-minted Ngo Dinh Diem for the 21st century – he probably held off for not one, not two, but THREE VHS copies of public-domain cartoons!
To summarize, then: while a true Korean rapprochement would be an exceptional development, the anomalies of this case suggest it to be a mere short-term publicity stunt, likely a hangover from the goodwill generated from the Pyeongchang Olympics, but unlikely to last out the year. And there are plenty of factions looking to drape their shoulders with cheap laurels hastily plucked from this affair while there’s still time. Let’s not get fooled again, folks. Save that for the alienists.
