Just in case anyone is still delusional enough to believe that any of the major Western “Christian” bodies still qualifies as truly Christian, here is what the new Pope had to say this week about salvation:
In a passage that may prompt a theological debate about the nature of salvation, the pontiff also declared that God “has redeemed all of us, all of us, with the Blood of Christ: all of us, not just Catholics. Everyone!”
“Even the atheists,” he said to those who might question his assertion. “Everyone!”1
The leftists and culture at large are of course celebrating the Pope’s remarks. Protip: if the pagan culture loves what you’re saying or doing, then you’re probably doing it wrong (John 15:18-20). But this is not surprising coming from a man who, while a bishop in Argentina, was a huge fan of “interfaith dialogue.”2 Unlike Jesus’s “interfaith dialogue,” which always involved a call for sinners to repent, the modern “Christian” interfaith dialogue is merely masturbatory moral relativism.
The Pope went on to trumpet his milksop credentials:
“And that, simply, is blasphemy. To say that you can kill in the name of God is blasphemy.”
Notice that this is not a condemnation of unbiblical killing or unjust killing, but any killing whatsoever. We should all be very thankful that the Church used to be run by real men as opposed to pacifist, girly men like today. The fact that you aren’t reading this in Arabic praising Allah is testament to the support the Church has historically given to the warriors who “killed in the name of God” at places like Tours, Lepanto, Vienna, Ugra, Kosovo, Malta, and Constantinople to protect Christendom.
