Many of you may have seen this article about how neighborhoods in Oslo are turning into anti-Norwegian slums by immigrant invaders being blessed by the vibrancy and strength of diversity. Norwegian women in particular have gotten to enjoy the benefits of multiculturalism and immigration.
Not to be outdone by its Western neighbor, Sweden has embraced the vibrancy of diversity to such a degree that now one in four Swedish women will get to experience it firsthand. In fact, Sweden is one of the most liberal countries in Europe when it comes to immigration policy, welfare benefits, cultural accommodation, and anti-Swedish free speech anti-hate speech laws. Over the past decade in particular, this has caused a tidal wave of multicultural enrichment, as opposed to its bigoted southern neighbor, with non-EU immigrants now comprising 9.2% of the Swedish population, primarily from Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan, Somalia, Eritrea, and Syria.1 This has happened to such a degree that many neighborhoods are now almost 100% diverse with zero ethnic Swedes racists remaining, particularly in suburbs of Malmo and Stockholm. Unfortunately, not everyone is happy about this vibrancy. Last week, Swedish police shot an immigrant brandishing a machete an instrument of cultural enrichment. The diverse community was understandably upset about this, and vibrant youths spent the next week in peaceful protests against institutional racism. The peaceful protests included the traditional burning of cars, police stations, schools, and other symbols of institutional racism.
In a shocking display of racism, far-right extremists have rallied against the youths’ cultural enrichment, with hundreds of black-shirted vigilantes patrolling the vibrant suburbs. Fortunately, most of the arrests so far by the Swedish police have been of these concerned citizens white supremacists instead of the rioting immigrants vibrant youths. Of all the nerve, you’d think that these extremists thought themselves the descendants of Vikings or something.
Much still needs to be done to combat institutional racism. For example,
But amid the soulsearching last week, perhaps the most telling comment was the one from Kjell Lindgren, the spokesman for Stockholm Police. “We don’t know why they are doing this,” he said, when asked for a cause for the riots. “There is no answer to it.”[emphasis added]2
The answer is obviously more immigration; only a racist would not see that or disagree. And here’s what one of Sweden’s nationalist racist parties had to say:
“We have tried harder than any other European country to integrate, spending billions on a welfare system that is designed to help jobless immigrants and guarantee them a good quality of life,” said Marc Abramsson, leader of the National Democrats Party. “Yet we have areas where there are ethnic groups that just don’t identify with Swedish society. They see the police and even the fire brigade as part of the state, and they attack them. We have tried everything, anything, to improve things, but it hasn’t worked. It’s not about racism, it’s just that multi-culturalism doesn’t recognise how humans actually function.”3
Why such hateful people aren’t in jail is beyond me. One of the enriching youths had this to say:
Among a large group gathered on an overhead walkway was Mohammed Abdu, 27, whose family came to Sweden from Eritrea when he was aged three. . . .
“It’s true that the welfare system here is an example to the rest of the world, so if you fall here you do not fall all the way to the bottom,” he said. “But people don’t like being dependent on social welfare, and there is hidden racism.”4
Exactly, that’s what Swedes don’t understand: giving welfare to immigrants is racist, just like not giving welfare to immigrants is racist. Obviously, much work has yet to be done to reeducate Swedes about how to truly embrace the enrichment of multiculturalism.
