The mainstream media has been running an AP News article entitled, “Obama Golf Shoes Could Have Been Clue to Bin Laden.” The article points out that Mr. Obama’s odd behavior, particularly in regards to his golf game, were not noted as significant until after the raid.
Golf shoes in the Oval Office could have been a clue.
President Barack Obama usually goes to the residence quarters of the White House after putting in a few weekend hours on the links. But he made an unusual beeline for his West Wing office last Sunday that raised eyebrows only in retrospect.
He was headed for a top-secret meeting to review final preparations for a military operation he’d approved two days earlier, the one involving a raid by Navy SEALs that would end with the death of Osama bin Laden, one of the world’s most hunted men. . . .
Come Sunday, Obama headed for the Andrews Air Force Base golf course, as he does on many weekends when the weather is nice. But he only played nine holes, instead of his customary 18, leaving after about three hours. The reporters who accompany him on public outings didn’t think anything was amiss and thought the chilly, rainy weather played into the president’s decision to leave several hours earlier than usual.
What they didn’t know was that Obama was heading back for that final meeting on the bin Laden operation.
In retrospect, there were a few meager clues that something may have been going on. Take the golf shoes in the Oval Office, for example. Photos of Obama walking up the path to his office also showed him with a tense look and clenched jaw.
This article is just one in the slew of praise that our glorious leader has received for his leadership and calm during and leading up to the Bin Laden raid. Mr. Obama has been quick to take credit for the raid, and his poll numbers have jumped nine points (56% up from 47%) in response to Bin Laden’s alleged death.1
There is, however, a different story about the raid coming to the surface which paints a completely different picture – a picture in which Mr. Obama had Bin Laden in his sights for months and hesitated to take action, his subordinates circumvented him to get the raid going, he attempted to get the raid stopped less than forty-eight hours before it occurred, he was eventually overruled, and he was afterward handed his talking points to read. This is more evidence for what many of us have believed for a long time: that Obama is merely a figurehead, a puppet controlled by those with the real power. In this version, Mr. Obama ended his golf game early and was wearing golf shoes to the Oval Office because he did not know what was going on until just before it occurred. You can read the entire leaked account of the leading of the operation here. Below is an excerpt:
I have been told by more than one source that [CIA Director] Leon Panetta was directing the operation with both his own CIA operatives, as well as direct contacts with military – both entities were reporting to Panetta only at this point, and not the President of the United States. There was not going to be another delay as had happened 24 hour [sic] earlier. The operation was at this time effectively unknown to President Barack Obama or Valerie Jarrett and it remained that way until AFTER it had already been initiated. President Obama was literally pulled from a golf outing and escorted back to the White House to be informed of the mission. Upon his arrival there was a briefing held which included Bill Daley, John Brennan, and a high ranking member of the military. When Obama emerged from the briefing, he was described as looking “very confused and uncertain.” The president was then placed in the situation room where several of the players in this event had already been watching the operation unfold. Another interesting tidbit regarding this is that the Vice President was already “up to speed” on the operation. A source indicated they believe Hillary Clinton had personally made certain the Vice President was made aware of that day’s events before the president was. The now famous photo released shows the particulars of that of that room and its occupants. What that photo does not communicate directly is that the military personnel present in that room during the operation unfolding, deferred to either Hillary Clinton or Robert Gates. The president’s role was minimal, including their acknowledging of his presence in the room.
Whether you believe that the real Osama Bin Laden was the target of the raid or that the target was only a patsy, it is now becoming apparent that Mr. Obama had remarkably little to do with it. When the AP News article stated that “but only a few insiders knew the real deal,” little did they know that Mr. Obama was not one of them.2
