President Donald J. Trump donated his first three months’ salary as President to the National Parks Service on April 3. He had made a campaign pledge to not accept a salary if elected to the White House, and ran into legal problems preventing him from outright receiving zero compensation. Just like previous presidents John F. Kennedy and Herbert Hoover, Trump couldn’t refuse a salary but instead has had to donate it to charities of his choice. Trump will apparently spread his salary paychecks around to various federal and nonprofit organizations.
As usual, the anti-American media cared nothing for this incredibly generous move by a man who has already risked so much of his wealth for the good of his countrymen by taking stands for which anti-American corporations like Macy’s and Univision have financially punished him.
In addition to the generous act itself, what’s notable is the cause Trump selected to donate the money towards: our national heritage. The National Parks Service is part of Zinke’s department. Included in the NPS are natural wonders such as the Grand Canyon, national monuments such as the Washington Monument, and battlefields such as Saratoga and Gettysburg.
Without question places like these need to be preserved and accessible to the people of the United States. In order for present and future generations to learn and feel what it means to be American, these national heirlooms must be protected and maintained. In other words, in order for our ethnos to continue as a distinct ethnos, we as a people must protect the land God gave to us, and the places and memorials our ancestors bequeathed to us.
Specifically, Trump’s donation will go towards American battlefields. As Secretary of the Interior Ryan Zinke said,
I did talk to the President last night, and he has decided, as you know, to donate his entire quarter salary. And we’re going to dedicate it and put it against the infrastructure on our nation’s battlefields. We’re about $100 [million] or $229 million behind in deferred maintenance on our battlefields alone, and that’s on our 25 national battlefields. And we’re excited about that opportunity.
Whereas a left-wing president like Barack Obama or Hillary Clinton would use their bully pulpits to advocate for globalism and transgenderism, Trump has used his to push for a militant national identity. He’s even put his money where his mouth is. Not a bad start for this still-fledgling administration.
